ISJ is a British school through and through. But during International Week, the school pauses to celebrate the remarkable diversity that defines its community. Students, staff, and families come together to honour the many countries represented within its walls.

The current student body spans 13 nationalities. Indonesian students make up the largest group at 35%, followed by South Korean students at 26%, Malaysian at 11%, Japanese at 8%, and Chinese at 7%. Australian students account for 3%, with Indian, Spanish, and American students each representing 2%. Italian, Thai, Russian, and Czech students each make up 1% of the community.

A Week of Shared Stories

International Week gives students the chance to share their heritage, traditions, and languages with their peers. Classrooms come alive with artefacts, foods, music, and stories from around the world. Younger pupils explore maps and flags, while older students present on cultural customs and national histories.

The week serves as a reminder that a British education is enriched, not diminished, by the global perspectives pupils bring to it. Learning alongside classmates from Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Tokyo shapes the way ISJ students think, collaborate, and see the world.

Community at the Heart

International Week reflects one of ISJ's founding values: that a genuinely international school community is a gift. The school takes pride in welcoming families from across the globe and in building an environment where every culture is respected and every background celebrated.
