Admissions
How do I apply to ISJ?
Contact the admissions team, arrange a tour, then submit an application form with the application fee. For children entering Year 1 and above, there is an age-appropriate assessment. Full details are on the How to Apply page.
Is ISJ selective?
Pre-Nursery, Nursery, and Reception have no formal assessment. From Year 1, children complete a short assessment in literacy, numeracy, and reasoning. ISJ is looking for children who can access the curriculum and thrive.
Can my child join mid-year?
Yes, subject to available space, mid-year transfers are welcome. Contact the admissions team to discuss availability.
What age can my child start?
Children can join from age 2 (Pre-Nursery). Use the Age Guide to find the right year group for your child.
Can I apply before we move to Jakarta?
Yes. ISJ accepts applications up to two years in advance and offers live video tours for families who are relocating.
Fees and Payments
Where can I find the fee schedule?
The full fee schedule for the 2026/27 academic year is on the Tuition Fees page.
Are there sibling discounts?
Yes. Discounts apply from the third child onwards. Details are on the Fees page.
What is included in the fees?
Fees cover teaching, the full academic curriculum, learning materials, use of all campus facilities, pastoral care, academic support, and co-curricular activities. Lunch, school trips, uniforms, transport, and external exam fees are charged separately.
How are fees paid?
Fees are payable annually or by term (three terms per year). Payment is due 14 days before the start of each term.
Academics
What curriculum does ISJ follow?
ISJ follows the English National Curriculum from Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) through to A-Levels.
What qualifications will my child leave with?
Students in Year 10 and 11 sit GCSEs. Students in Year 12 and 13 study for A-Levels. Both are internationally recognised British qualifications accepted by universities worldwide.
How large are the classes?
Class sizes are up to 15 pupils in early years, and 20 in primary and above, allowing teachers to give personal attention and know every child well.
Are all teachers UK qualified?
Yes. 100% of the teaching staff hold UK teaching qualifications and are recruited from leading British independent schools.
School Life
What are the school hours?
The school day runs from 7:50am to 2:00pm, with co-curricular activities available until 4:00pm.
What is the UK residential programme?
Each year, Year 7 and 8 pupils travel to Woolverstone Hall in Suffolk, England for a residential study trip. They experience British boarding school life, including academic enrichment, sport, and outdoor adventure.
Where is ISJ located?
ISJ is in Pondok Indah, South Jakarta, on Jl. R.A. Kartini. Pondok Indah is one of Jakarta's most established residential areas, close to Pondok Indah Mall, RS Pondok Indah hospital, and the Pondok Indah Golf Course.
