ISJ parents came together this month for a hands-on workshop on Emotional Regulation and Behaviour, an engaging and practical session led by the school's pastoral team. The morning offered parents a chance to deepen their understanding of how children experience and manage their emotions, and to take home strategies they can use immediately.
What the Workshop Covered
The session explored emotional coaching techniques that help children identify and name their feelings, as well as co-regulation skills, the ways in which a calm adult presence can help a child regulate when they are overwhelmed. Parents also worked through practical approaches to supporting positive behaviour patterns at home and in daily life.
The discussions were lively and honest. Parents shared their own experiences and challenges, and the room was filled with the kind of genuine engagement that makes workshops like this so valuable.
Wellbeing as a Shared Endeavour
At ISJ, wellbeing is understood as a partnership between school and family. Children thrive when the adults around them are working from a shared understanding of how to support emotional health and positive behaviour. Events like this are part of how the school builds that partnership.
ISJ thanks all the parents who attended and participated so thoughtfully. Their commitment to their children's wellbeing is one of the things that makes the ISJ community so strong.
